I don’t think I’ve ever seen the mountains around Malibu as green as they were around the time of Alek’s and Danielle’s engagement session.
The day of their session was absolutely gorgeous, albeit a bit windy from the Santa Ana winds that we’re blowing that day. Despite the wind, we managed to have the most gorgeous session (and I’ll be honest Alex‘s hair was absolutely working the wind).
We started off in a spot that I’ve never photographed in before. It was in a little clearing, tucked away and was shaded by gorgeous oak trees, and had the most perfect, whimsical little purple flowers.
As the sun got a little lower, we made our way my favorite tree in all of Malibu Creek State park.
However, because it was still so early in the year, the tree was just starting to get its leaves, so we made our way up to the top of the ridge instead of hanging out there longer.
And boy was I so excited for these images! The lighting was absolutely stunning at the top of the ridge, and the trees were already getting their leaves.
We ended our session in a spot that perfectly overlooked the meadow below, and the twin peaks in the distance.
Their session was photographed on Medium format film and digital.
