When does Lavender Bloom In Southern California?
Peak lavender season in Southern California from mid/late June through mid-July. Lavender varieties bloom at different periods, so some farms might open their fields starting mid June, while other farms might have their farms open through late July!

The Best Lavender Farms Los Angeles
1. Underwood Family Farms, Moorpark
Underwood Family Farms in Moorpark is a favorite summer destination for families near Los Angeles, and their Pick-Your-Own Lavender field is a seasonal highlight.
Starting in mid-June, guests can stroll through blooming rows of fragrant lavender and harvest their own bundles. The experience is hands-on and family-friendly, offering shears and baskets so you can cut your stems right from the plant.
The lavender is also available pre-cut in their flower shop, but there’s something special about gathering it yourself under the sun. Once picked, the stems should be dried upside down without water to preserve their beauty and scent.
In addition to lavender, the farm offers wagon rides, a petting zoo, and a farm market, making it the perfect day trip just outside of LA.

2. Chateau Couveau Lavender Farm, Wildomar
Chateau Couveau Lavender Farm in Wildomar is a charming, family‑run lavender paradise that bursts to life each summer. Founded in 2021 by Cynthia and Josh Couveau to celebrate their 20th anniversary, the farm now grows about 840 plants across four lavender varieties, naturally, without pesticides, on roughly half an acre.
Pick-Your-Own Lavender:
Each June and July, Chateau Couveau opens its gates for pop-up U‑Pick events, offering bouquets at around $12 per bundle. You’ll wander through fragrant, buzzing rows with scissors and rubber bands in hand, cutting stems fresh from the hillsides hugged by gentle Wildomar breezes—truly a sensory escape . During select evenings, enjoy lavender lemonade, artisan vendors, and painting in a relaxed, idyllic setting.
Beyond picking, the Couveaus also craft small‑batch products on-site, from dried bouquets and sachets to hydrosol and soon essential oil, using hand-harvested blooms distilled in their copper still. The farm also occasionally hosts “hand-woven bouquet” workshops where visitors learn to braid ribbon through bundles for lasting keepsakes.

3. Frog Creek Farm, Ojai
Frog Creek Farm in Ojai is a serene, family‑run lavender farm nestled in the Upper Ojai Valley, offering a peaceful escape and hands‑on floral fun just outside Los Angeles.
Pick‑Your‑Own Lavender:
Each summer, typically June through early July, the farm opens for U‑Pick on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with occasional Saturday Sunset Harvests from 6–8 p.m. Picnickers can wander through 600+ lavender plants across three fragrant varietals, shears and baskets in hand, harvesting gorgeous bundles for around $12 each. There’s no reservation needed—just turn up early to beat the heat, stroll down mulched paths under dappled shade, sip lavender lemonade, and soak up buzzing bees and birdsong.
U‑Pick season spans about 3–4 weekends (rain and bloom dependent), with the 2025 run extended through July 12th. Farm‑made lavender goods, soaps, lotions, sprays, essential oils, jams, are available on site, along with seasonal zinnias.
Frog Creek is a boutique, rustic experience: no restrooms or wheelchair ramps, and encounters with farm wildlife are common, closed‑toe shoes are a must. But that's all part of its charm!

123 Farm Organics, nestled within Highland Springs Ranch & Inn in Beaumont, proudly holds the title of Southern California’s largest certified organic lavender farm, spanning over 20 acres, making it the most popular lavender destination near Los Angeles. From May 2 through July 20, 2025, their annual Lavender Festival shines nightly, with sunset strolls amid fragrant purple fields illuminated by 100,000+ twinkling lights.
