Pumpkin Patch Malibu: Where to Find Them
This Post May Contain Affiliate LinksFall in Malibu looks a little different than it does in other parts of the country.
We may not have crisp autumn temperatures or forests filled with changing leaves, but that doesn't mean we have to miss out on all the fun that comes with the season.
If you're searching for a pumpkin patch Malibu locals love or are willing to take a short drive over the mountains for a bigger fall experience, there are some surprisingly great options nearby.
As someone who was born and raised in Malibu, I've always loved the way fall settles into our little stretch of the California coast. And while Malibu will probably never be the place for sweater weather and colorful fall foliage, picking out pumpkins is one tradition we can absolutely participate in.
From a small local Malibu farm where you can pick up pumpkins on a Saturday morning to sprawling pumpkin fields, corn mazes, hayrides, and thousands of glowing jack-o'-lanterns after dark, there are more fall experiences nearby than you might expect.
Keep reading to find the best pumpkin patches near Malibu, and what makes each one worth the drive.
Are There Any Pumpkin Patches in Malibu?
Yes!
While Malibu isn't home to the sprawling pumpkin patches and large fall festivals you'll find farther inland, you can still find pumpkins right here in Malibu.
Thorne Family Farm offers a much smaller-scale, local alternative to the traditional Southern California pumpkin patch experience.
Rather than operating as a large pumpkin patch with corn mazes, hayrides, and carnival-style attractions, Thorne Family Farm sells pumpkins during its Saturday Farmers Market alongside the farm's seasonal produce.

The Best Pumpkin Patches Near Malibu
For the bigger pumpkin-patch experience, you'll need to venture just outside Malibu. Within an easy drive, you'll find working farms and seasonal attractions with pumpkin fields, corn mazes, hayrides, farm animals, rides, and other classic fall activities.
King Gillette Ranch
Just over the Santa Monica Mountains in Calabasas, King Gillette Ranch transforms into one of the area’s most elaborate pumpkin experiences each fall with Nights of the Jack.
Rather than a traditional daytime pumpkin patch where you wander through fields and choose a pumpkin, this is an immersive nighttime Halloween experience featuring thousands of illuminated jack-o-lanterns and elaborate pumpkin installations.
🎃 Nights of the Jack Highlights:
Thousands of illuminated pumpkins: Follow a walking trail through elaborate displays of glowing jack-o-lanterns, including oversized installations and detailed pumpkin artwork inspired by recognizable characters and pop culture.
A nighttime fall experience: This isn’t your traditional hayride and pumpkin picking farm. The experience really begins once the sun goes down, making it a fun alternative to the daytime pumpkin patches on this list.
Food and Drink: In addition to the pumpkin displays, previous experiences have included food trucks and the Spookeasy, where adults can purchase seasonal cocktails, beer, and wine.

Underwood Family Farms
If you want the full family friendly Pumpkin Patch experience, Underwood family farms in Moorpark is easily one of the biggest options within driving distance of Malibu.
It’s annual Fall Harvest Festival turns the working farm into a gigantic pumpkin patch and fall celebration, with acres of pumpkins alongside pick your own produce, farm animals, rides, entertainment, games, and seasonal food.
🎃 Underwood Family Farms Highlights:
Gigantic Pumpkin Patch: Wander through acres of pumpkins and choose from an incredible variety of shapes, colors, and sizes. Their special All About Pumpkins Weekend showcases everything from classic carving pumpkins to Cinderellas, Ghost Pumpkins, tiny Jack Be Littles, enormous Atlantic Giants, gourds, squash, and more.
Classic fall farm activities: Admission includes tractor-drawn wagon rides, a corn maze, access to the pick-your-own fields, the Animal Center, and Farmer Craig's Chicken Show. Weekends add even more entertainment, including live music, pig races, demonstrations, and other activities.

Conejo Family Farms
Located in Camarillo, Conejo Family Farms offers a smaller, family-owned alternative to some of Southern California's massive fall festivals. The pumpkin patch was created by three local families who wanted to build a place where families and friends could spend time outdoors together and celebrate the fall season.
The result is a wonderfully classic pumpkin-patch experience complete with pumpkins, a five-acre corn maze, hayrides, sunflowers, mountain views, and plenty of places to take fall photos.
🎃 Conejo Family Farms Highlights:
Fresh pumpkins: The patch grows and sells an assortment ranging from traditional orange carving pumpkins and sugar pie pumpkins to minis and giant varieties, so there's plenty to choose from whether you're carving, decorating, or baking.
Five-acre corn maze: One of the farm's biggest attractions is its five-acre corn maze, offering a classic fall activity for both kids and adults.
Scenic hayrides: Take a hayride past pumpkins, sunflowers, corn stalks, and the surrounding mountains—a particularly pretty way to experience the farm and Ventura County's countryside.
Sunflowers + fall photos: This would be one of my picks if getting beautiful fall photos is high on your list. In addition to the pumpkins, the farm specifically highlights its sunflower fields, mountain sunsets, and other seasonal photo opportunities.
Admission includes access to the hayride, corn maze, sunflower field, and pumpkin picking, while parking is free. Food is also available Fridays through Sundays.
