Dan and Danyaā€™s Point Dume Elopement was bright, sunny, and absolutely dreamy!

Thereā€™s a reason Point Dume is one of Malibuā€™s most scenic locations. It has everything from wide, sandy beaches, dramatic cliffs, intimate hidden coves, an iconic stretch of road, and itā€™s in close proximity to the perfect reception restaurant after you say your ā€œI doā€™s.

Tips for a Point Dume Elopement

Do you need a Permit?

Long story short yes. And at Point Dume, the permits get super complicated, so itā€™s best to go with a photographer (like me) whoā€™s local and knows the ins and outs of the permit process so you donā€™t have to worry about a thing on your wedding day!

Parking

The best place to park at Point Dume is down below at Westward beach. And oh. my. gosh. donā€™t forget to pay the parking fee!! Even if the kiosks arenā€™t working, go around and find one that does.

Fun Ideas for your Elopement

  • Rent a convertible: Point Dume is the perfect place to have fun photos with a cool convertible during your Elopement.

  • Explore Pirates Cove: If your elopement day happens to fall during a low tide, you can walk over the rocks to a hidden cove on the other side of Westward beach.

  • Enjoy a beachside Reception at a nice restaurant: The Sunset restaurant is the perfect place to host a group or have an intimate reception dinner after your Elopement.

  • Book a Beach Picnic: There are tons of pop-up picnic companies that service Point Dume! Book one of them to set up a super intimate reception right there on the beach.
