A Beautiful Yacht Elopement | Malibu, CA
Jose and Maria’s love of the ocean and of Disney’s 1998 version of the Parent Trap inspired their sunset Yacht elopement. Their elopement started at Marina del Ray, aboard the Legend Yacht, and set sail along the coast of Santa Monica and Malibu, before docking in front of the Malibu pier for a gorgeous sunset ceremony on the bow of the boat.
The Couple
Their love story began 11 years before they got married, and it has been anything but ordinary. Maria and Jose’s relationship has crossed countries, careers, visas, oceans, and years of waiting, all leading to this moment.
Jose and Maria are the sweetest couple and I’m honored I was able to photograph their elopement.
The Ceremony
The ceremony took place off the coast of Malibu, with the Malibu pier visible in the distance. They said their vows among 12 of their closest family members. The marine layer rolled in just as they had their first kiss, creating the perfect ending to their intimate ceremony.
The Sweet little Details
Maria and I connected through our mutual love for Disney. As soon as I heard they were modeling their elopement after the cruise ship scene on Disney’s 1998 Parent Trap, I just knew I had to book them! The image with the ships life raft was super important to them.
